A DMS IMPLEMENTATION CHECKLIST You're ready to start enjoying the operational benefits of the industry's leading dealer management system. Now's the time to set your dealership up for transition success by checking all the boxes on this simple pre-implementation checklist. FIGURE OUT YOUR FORMS Before the transition, we'll need you to provide all of the F&I forms that should be programmed into the new DMS. DO A DATA CLEANSE Remember, when your dealership transitions to Dealertrack DMS, everything in your current system will come over—even unnecessary, over-bloated data. Now's the time to get rid of anything that you don't want to bring along! SET STANDARDS If you have multiple stores, chances are that each has developed some of its own systems and processes. Now is the best time to get everyone on the same page and to create standards that will apply across stores. PICK A PROJECT CHAMPION Most of us work better with just a little bit of pressure. Identify someone in your organization that can drive deadlines to ensure that milestones are met throughout the implementation process. ALIGN YOUR IT As your DMS transition partner, we can do a lot, but we're dependent upon your dealership to have a healthy IT infrastructure in place. If your in-house team can't setup the networking, consider retaining a reputable third-party IT company to do it for you. 1 2 3 4 5 READ Y, SE T, SWITCH!
